In what is billed as the richest tournament in European poker history, PokerStars.com is again sponsoring the six month European Poker Tour, commencing September 16 and expects the prize pool to exceed last year’s Euro 4.5 million.
Poker Stars is the world’s second largest poker site, and is hoping its headline sponsorship of the tour will allow it to break into the growing European poker market. The first EPT was broadcast on UK terrestrial TV channel Five and satellite sports broadcaster Eurosport.
