Pokerzone is about to move to SKY Channel 843 to become part of the new Gaming and Dating section of the SKY programme guide.
A company spokeswoman said the recent increase in the popularity of gaming and casino television has prompted Sky to add this new dedicated area to their existing platform.
The changeover process has already started and a full channel move will take place on 29th November 2005, when pokerzone will be broadcast solely on Channel 843.
The program has experienced significant success since launching in May with weekly viewing figures now reaching in excess of 250 000, making pokerzone the leading gaming channel in the UK.
In August the program moved into Germany gaining a million viewers, and with expansion into Poland, Portugal and Canada imminent another 2.55 million homes will soon be watching worldwide. In addition, there are over 100 000 viewers who watch pokerzone via broadband each month.
Pokerzone’s flagship show, Poker Night Live is a broadcasting first and has played a significant role in the growth of pokerzone. The concept is an online poker show that offers players the chance to play live on television via the internet every night of the week, in front of up to 60,000 viewers.
