A new college poker site, HoldEmRivals.com has taken the initiative to set up fan vs. fan online poker tournaments for major US college rivals. The tournaments will be held over the next year, giving fans the chance to win money from their most competitive rivals in poker tournaments scheduled just days before the opposing teams clash in their annual football games.

The first scheduled tournament is for Tuesday, November 15th, and will display the skills of fans from Ohio State University and the University of Michigan. The tournament has a small $10 buy-in to encourage all levels of poker players to compete. In addition to winning cash prizes, the top 5 finishers of the winning team will receive an iPod Shuffle courtesy of HoldEmRivals.com.

Marketing director for the event, Justin Goff says, “This is a great chance for fans to engage in a competition against one another as a team. And an opportunity to talk a little good humoured trash with rivals before the game.”
