Last year’s 888.com UK Poker Open Tournament attracted many players with a $1 million prize pool that included a winner’s purse of $500 000, and that is likely to be exceeded in this year’s event, scheduled for September 25 to October 8.
Professional poker players and online qualifiers will participate in the televised event, and satellites have already started at Pacific Poker and will continue through Sept. 16 giving a wide range of players an opportunity to win a $7 500 prize package to the event.
There are sub-satellites daily where players can win their way into a regular daily satellite for as little as 50¢ for the sit-and-go game or $3.20 at a multi-table game. Winners of the regular daily satellites will compete every Sunday for a U.K. Poker Open prize package that includes the buy-in for the event and travel expenses.
Those who don’t win their way into the Sunday satellite can also buy their way in for $105. Registration is currently open, but seats are limited.
