Casino Royale poker set released.

Cartamundi, a Belgian company licensed to manufacture and market poker accessories for the latest James Bond movie “Casino Royale” has announced the public release of sets of playing cards and poker chips as used by the famous fictional 007 agent in the film.

“We are proud that a Belgian company, Cartamundi, is able to contribute to the success of the world-famous Bond films,” said Bert Van Pelt, business unit manager, playing cards.

“We hope the publicity generated by the new James Bond film will raise the profile of both Cartamundi and poker in general. Poker has become an absolute rage throughout the world, so we are convinced that this trend can only be stimulated further by the new Bond film ‘Casino Royale.'”

Two poker sets are available as well as the playing cards. The compact poker set contains 150 chips and there is also a luxury set with 200 chips. The products bear the Casino Royale logo as created for the movie.

In the movie, James Bond goes up against the villain, Le Chiffre, in an intense poker game soon after being promoted to “00” status. Bond has been investigating terrorist cells which lead him to Le Chiffre, a banker to the world’s terrorist organizations.

MI6 gives Bond the unlikely but entertaining assignment of playing against Le Chiffre in a poker game at the Casino Royale in Montenegro, where he must bluff his way to winning Le Chiffre’s fortune during the poker game in order to destroy his organisation.
