News from Dublin, Ireland this week is that mobile poker fans have a new venue to play…and its claim to fame is that it is the first of its kind to offer real money action specifically for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
The new site Switchpoker.com is the result of three years development and offers an elegant web-based solution to online poker players who like their action on the move, and without delays waiting for downloads.
Conor McCarthy, co-founder of Switch Poker, said that as online poker players he and his associates were frustrated by their inability to play real money poker using Apple mobile devices.
“The solution proved deceptively simple ? why not develop our own site compatible with Apple devices but not beholden to them?” he said.
“After a period of intense development Switchpoker.com is here and offers the world’s first real money poker games for the iPhone & iPad. We’re thrilled to be setting the pace and look forward to making our site the gold standard of mobile poker.”
The site currently offers no-limit hold’em six-max ring games and plans to add sit ‘n’ go and multi-table tournaments, heads-up and nine-seat ring games, and fixed-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha tournaments in the future.
The technology allows a diversity of web browsers to be used, including Internet Explorer 8 and 9, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera.
Unfortunately the site does not accept US players.
