Pokerstars has smashed its own Guinness World Book 2009 record of 149 196 players in action at once and set a new record for the largest poker tournament with a record 200 000 players in play at the same time.
Russian player “sokoluk1991” outlasted the 200 000 strong field in the $1 buy-in tournament which offered a first prize of $50 000 and formed part of PokerStar’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. .
The record attempt was confirmed by Guinness World Records Adjudicator Gaz Deaves.
