FoxTV has announced that it has struck a deal for a pilot episode for the upcoming “All In,” a show being put together by Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds’ production company, DarkFire TV and 20th Century Fox Television.
The show, a single-camera comedy follows the life and activities of the fictional Tommy Vigorish, a compulsive gambler trying to persuade his family to help him to get back in the game.
Reynolds will not be acting in the pilot; along with Jonathon Martin and Steven Pearl he will be the executive producer, using a script written by long-time partner Allen Loeb.
This marks the first live-action writing effort for Loeb since the launch of DarkFire TV last year. Loeb, co-creator of the high-concept 2008 Fox drama New Amsterdam, had been focused largely on features for the past several years, before starting the TV company.
His film credits include Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Just Go With It and Rock Of Ages.
According to TVLine.com, Fox has ordered an additional animated project from DarekFire titled ‘Lowe Rollers’. The show will tell the story of a family as it “tries to maintain a semblance of civility while struggling to run a sinking Titanic-themed casino in the heart of Sin City.”
DarkFire TV has worked with Fox before, producing another single-camera comedy titled ‘Guidance’ last year. The company also produced ‘Between Park and Lex,’ a drama for ABC written by Maria Maggenti.
Loeb and Reynolds are currently collaborating on an animated comedy for Fox titled ‘And Then There Was Gordon.’
