The Washington DC-based political publication Politico has published an interesting assessment of why Nevada Senator Harry Reid failed to achieve federal legalisation for online poker last year despite strong support from major land casino groups and the American Gaming Association
Our readers will recall that Reid collaborated with the Republican Senator and arch online gambling opponent Jon Kyl in drafting a bill that traded the legalisation of internet poker against a specific ban on most other forms of online gambling…and was remarkably coy about disclosing its provisions to the general public until relatively late in the process.
