International poker ace Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan returned to the virtual high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker this week for the first time since Black Friday…and what a return it was!
In a mammoth 25-hour single session that started late Thursday, Dwan took on a range of top NLHE, no-limit Triple Draw and PLO players, and over some 7,000 hands scored a profit of $1.25 million, reports the High Stakes Data Base site.
Starting on the $300/600 heads-up tables, Dwan won $17,000 in ‘contributions’ from “bbvisbadforme” and “SanIker” in just over an hour before hitting the PLO and No Limit Tripe Draw tables, where he took money off fellow aces like Alex “Alexonmoon” Leneau, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, Hac “trex313” Dang and Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky, with his biggest profits coming from the Triple Draw confrontations.
One of the features of this endurance session was Dwan’s 18-hour, multi-table heads up clash with Ben “Bttech” Tollerene. Playing$300/600 pot-limit Omaha, Dwan dominated much of the action, but in the last quarter of the game he lost ground, giving Tollerene the opportunity to take him for $30,000.
Still with High Stakes Data Base, the site reports that high-risk-addicted Swedish player Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom is on one of his famous downswings, dropping over $3.5 million in recent weeks, $850,000 of it this week alone. That represents some serious erosion to the $4.5 million the Swede was up earlier this year when he appeared to be on an unstoppable heater at FTP.
Other big losers this (February) month so far are Patrik Antonius (down $523,000), Ben Tollerene ($413,000) and Johnbest ($287,000).
From a more perspective, Rui Cao is FTP’s biggest high stakes winner thus far in February – up $717,000 and way ahead of nearest challengers Seb86 (up $457,000) and Alex “Alexonmoon” Leneau (up $437,000).
