Big week for online poker traffic.

By RP, January 15, 2013

Almost all the online poker operators reported noticeable improvements in their traffic last week, with a surge of 6 percent overall flagged by the independent online poker monitor Pokerscout as the start of the busy season.

PokerStars, PartyPoker, 888 and Microgaming Poker Network all booked weekly gains of 5 percent or more, with most of their competitors close behind.

Full Tilt Poker, which has been riding a wave of significant traffic in recent weeks, experienced a small decline, with its lead on third placed Party Poker dropping down from 50 percent to 40 percent. And of course Pokerstars continued to lead the field by a wide margin.

Pokerscout reports that year-over-year the November re-launch of Full Tilt Poker brought a significant number of players back into the online poker market, but nevertheless online poker player counts have decreased by 4 percent overall.
