The much-anticipated US social gaming giant Zynga’s launch of real-money poker in the UK appears to be imminent, with the new enterprise’s website punting a start of “early 2013”.
San Francisco-based Zynga has partnered with the European online gambling group Bwin.Party under the brand Zynga Plus and plans to introduce both casino and poker gambling facilities under a UK licence.
Once launched, it will compete in Britain with real-money gambling offered by social gaming leviathan Facebook, and by the powerful Caesars Interactive Entertainment-888 alliance.
The Zynga Poker Plus website has been up for some time, providing a preview of its forthcoming attractions and garnering email addresses from interested visitors.
Features include: “Zynga Plus Poker has a huge variety of games and stakes so that players at every level can find tables that are right for them.
“Enjoy games like Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi-lo, 7 Card Stud and more. Register for our thrilling tournaments or take a seat at our round-the-clock cash games for buy-ins as little as 25¢!”
The enterprise appears to have gone to some trouble in terms of accreditation, sporting logos from eCOGRA, Gamcare, EGBA, iTechLabs and the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.
