The latest weekly stats from the independent online poker monitor Pokerscout show that Full Tilt Poker has slipped to fourth place on the cash game leaderboard, trailing sister-site Pokerstars, and PartyPoker and iPoker.
Pokerstars is still way ahead of the pack, the monitor reports, leaving Party, FTP and iPoker to the weekly tussle for second placing. However, a big advance is expected from iPoker in the future, when major operators like Betfair, Dusk Til Dawn and Ladbrokes are due to join the network, boosting player lists significantly.
Other points of interest in the latest report include a decline in overall traffic of a further 7 percent by y-o-y comparison…and that’s despite the re-launch of Full Tilt Poker and the opening of the Spanish market.
Pokerscout reports that FTP’s launch of Irish Poker (see previous report) has gone well and is generating great interest from players.
Irish Poker, in which players are dealt four cards but must discard two after the flop, already appears to make up more than 3 percent of Full Tilt’s player counts.
Over at the US-friendly Revolution Gaming Network, traffic has apparently taken a hit following the implementation of the Fair Play technology, which segregates players by skill level (see previous reports).
Pokerscout surmises that the move has seen the more skilled and winning players leaving the site, resulting in ring game traffic declining more than 10 percent. Reports of delayed payments to players will also not have helped the operator.
