Merge shuts out new Utah poker players.

A source at the US-facing and fast growing Merge online poker network has told the Pokeraddict.com information site that it will no longer accept new player registrations from the staunchly anti-gambling state of Utah.

Earlier this year Utah lawmakers adopted a bill forbidding any intrastate legalisation of online poker, and Gov. Gary Herbert this week lobbied senior Congressional leaders not to pass federal legalisation bills.

Pokeraddict points out that Merge has already stopped accepting new players from Washington D.C. as well as the states of Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, and Washington.
