With the issue of Nevada intrastate online poker licenses now well underway, Gov. Brian Sandoval?s ‘super advisory committee’ is to focus on future developments at its meeting on June 14, according to administration officials.
The 11-man Nevada Gaming Policy Committee was revitalised by the governor last year as Nevada’s arrangements to legalise, regulate and license online poker surged ahead.
Frank Fahenkopf, the chief of trade body the American Gaming Association, is scheduled to address the committee on the position of his land casino members regarding the internet juggernaut, and will probably again be punting the difficult-to-achieve federal legalisation route as opposed to the burgeoning trend toward state-by-state legalisation.
It is understood that the nitty gritty of Nevada’s licensing requirements, including the fees, may also be on the agenda.
