Poker Veteran wins fourth WSOP bracelet.

Veteran poker pro Tom Schneider (53) from Scottsdale, Arizona gave his opponents a lesson in how to win at H.O.R.S.E events Tuesday, in the process taking down event 29 in the World Series of Poker tournament unfolding in Las Vegas.

It was his second H.O.R.S.E win in the current series (earlier in the tournament he was victorious the $1,500 buy-in event 15), bringing his career haul in WSOP winner’s bracelets to 4.

H.O.R.S.E events are not for the inexperienced or faint-hearted, comprising successive rounds of Texas Hold ’em, Omaha Hi-Low, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Low.

With a $5,000 buy-in, Schneider’s latest event attracted top notch players that included Greg Mueller, Chris Klodnicki, Adam Friedman and David Benyamine, several making the final table. That ensured intense and skilful competition, necessitating the extension of the event by a day.

In the early hours of the morning Schneider secured his victory by finally eliminating heads up opponent Ben Scholl and sending him home with a second placing check for $197,228.

In doing so, the poker veteran reserved the $318,955 main prize for himself, along with that prestigious fourth bracelet.

The big win was evocative of Schneider’s WSOP successes 6 years back at the 2007 WSOP, where he claimed his first two bracelets and was declared player of the year. With $2.2 million in career earnings and another two bracelets in the bag, this consummate professional must be in the running for the POY title again this year.

Other final pay-outs in the event included:

Greg Mueller – $129,600
Viatcheslav Ortynsiky – $94,664
Chris Klodnicki – $70,093
Adam Friedman – $52,613
David Benyamine – $40,039
Konstantin Puchkov – $30,876
