Pokerstars has released the full and final schedule for its 2010 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), after seeking input from the online poker community.
The 2010 championship – the ninth year in which the series has been presented – promises to be the best yet, with $50 million in guaranteed prize pools over 62 events covering the poker spectrum.
The action starts on September 5th with a $200 buy-in NLHE Six-Max event with a $1.25 million guaranteed prize pool, the first of three initial tournaments with seven-figure guaranteed pools. It runs through to September 26th when the championship closes with three more big-purse events as follows:
* 13:00: $200 NLHE, $1,500,000 guaranteed
* 15:00: $10,000 Eight-Game High Roller Two-Day, $1,000,000 guaranteed
* 17:00: $5,000 NLHE Main Event Two-Day, $10,000,000 guaranteed
This year?s championship is a notable step up from the 2009 offering, in which 45 events generated a guaranteed prize pool of $51 million. On that occasion Yevgeny Timoshenko took home the $1.72 million Main Event winner’s purse (see previous report).
