In its second weekly gain running, traffic to online poker sites rose 2.3 percent overall last week, according to the independent internet poker monitor Pokerscout.
The monitor reports that PartyPoker surged 7 percent and recaptured second place after spending 13 weeks at third behind Playtech’s iPoker Network. The surge is attributed to Party’s Card Rush promotion, in which players collect instant-win scratch card for prizes.
A number of operators recorded pleasing traffic gains of more than 6 percent, including Ongame (recently sold to Amaya Gaming); Winamax.fr; PokerStars.es; Bodog; PartyPoker.fr; iPoker.it; PKR and GTech G2’s IPN.
On the negative side, Revolution network and iPoker saw traffic declines of 2 or more percent.
Pokerscout says that on a year-on-year comparison basis online poker traffic has decreased by 7 percent in the last year.
