The Los Angeles leg of the Pokerstars North American Poker Tour was concluded this week, with poker pro Joe Tehan emerging the winner after a tense heads up with Chris DeMaci. The win boosted Tehan?s already million dollar plus career winnings by $725 000.

The Los Angeles leg main event was a $5 000 buy-in competition for which over 700 hopefuls entered. Tehan battled his way through the field to a final table comprised of: Chris DeMaci, Al Grimes, Anh Van Nguyen, Ray Henson, Michael Binger, Jason Mercier and Jake Toole.

Al Grimes’ third place finish – for which he collected $250 000 – set the scene for a heads up between Tehan and Chris DeMaci, with the former holding a 5 to 2 advantage in chips. It proved too big a hurdle for DeMaci, and Tehan emerged the winner, collecting $725 000 from the cashier, whilst his opponent’s second placing earned $440 000.
