Congratulations to Austrian poker pro Raphael Wimmer flowed over the weekend as he triumphed in the Euro 1,100 buy-in Eureka Rozvadov Main Event to take home a rather diluted first prize of Euro 99,685 following a five-way chop at the final table.

The event attracted a field of 664 hopefuls, who generated a prize pool of Euro 644,080.

Down to final table business, the survivors were led by Dutch pro Ruben Pleijster and comprised: Marek Blasko and Branislav Ondrus (Slovakia), Rastislav Paleta, Josef Gulas and Josef Pavelka, all from the Czech Republic, and Raphael Wimmer.

The five-way deal and the amounts agreed involved Wimmer (Euro 89,685); Blasko (Euro 59,962), Paleta (Euro 59,962), Pleijster (Euro 53,215) and Pavelka (Euro 50,646), leaving Euro 10,000 on the table for the ultimate winner.

With deal agreed and out of the way play resumed to the heads up between Wimmer and Josef Pavelka, a hotly contested affair but one that the Austrian player, cheered on by a vociferous group of railbirds, was able to win.
