The major US-facing betting group BetOnSports is the latest to report buoyant online poker business according to a report from Reuters this week.
The firm grew online poker like-for-like sales ten-fold in its third quarter from a year earlier, Chief Executive David Carruthers said on Thursday.
“Growth has been very, very large,” Carruthers told Reuters. “Like-for-likes have grown ten-fold between Q3 2004 and Q3 2005, but that was from a very small base.”
“A substantial amount of the upside for BetOnSports will come from poker and casino going forward, particularly in the year ending February 2007,” he said.
The reports follow similar positive results recently from Sportingbet’s Paradise Poker and 888.com.
