Weiss found the Belarussian a hard nut to crack in the fast-moving heads up but was fortunate to score a major pot on the third hand, followed by another big win on the very next hand, putting paid to Badziakouski’s plan and sending him home with a second placing prize worth $278,657.

It was Weiss’s biggest career win yet by a long way, eclipsing his previous highest cash of $154,940 in a March 2015 high roller contest.
