US poker pro Robert Hankins celebrated his sixth World Series of Poker Circuit win this week when he took down the $1,675 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event in Elizabeth, Southern Indiana.
Besting a 432-strong entry field, Hankins was victorious just a week after winning ring number five in a Pot Limit Omaha Circuit event, and claimed the first prize of $142,560, along with the coveted ring and a $10,000 seat for the WSOP Global Casino Championship.
By the time the final table action had reached the three-handed stage Hankins was well on the path to victory, holding half the chips in play against Hank Sitton and Lytle Allen. He made short work of the latter, dispatching him to the exit and a third placing reward of $64,372, and setting up the heads up against Sitton with a 2 to 1 commanding lead.
The two battled on for a while, but it was clear that Hankins had the upper hand, and he quickly leveraged his chip advantage into a victory, sending Sitton home with the runner-up prize of $88,096.
