Baazi Networks Pvt. Ltd., has announced that it has secured a Nagaland online poker licence for its operation PokerBaazi.com – the fifth such skill game licence to be awarded by the Indian province.

The licensing is authorised by the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Games of Skill Rules, 2016 and the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Rules, 2016, which permit the offering of skill games for real money in legal jurisdictions.

PokerBaazi joins four other online poker operators licensed by Nagaland: Khelo365, Pokabunga, Pokerhigh and Club Empire.

Navkiran Singh, a co-founder and director of Baazi Networks has confirmed that the licence is for online poker only.

“The license officially allows us to operate Texas Hold’em and PLO poker games in states permitting skill based online games and players can play without any apprehensions of legality,” Singh told the GLaws information site.

Aside from reasonable licensing fees, Nagaland operators face a modest 0.5 percent of GGR in state taxes.
