Social game developer Zynga has launched a new, free-to-play Zynga Poker for iOS and Android mobile device users.

Features of the app, which was developed for mobile “from the ground up”, include a complete graphic and audio-rich redesign, intuitive controls that allow players to easily change their stakes and buy-ins at any time and personalised play.

“In reimagining Zynga Poker, we set out to create the most authentic and immersive poker experience that mirrors the fun and excitement consumers have on real casino floors – all in a free-to-play social game,” said Jon Liu, Vice President of Games, Zynga Casino. “We listened closely to consumer feedback and our player community to create a Poker experience that delivers the fresh, unique features players have been asking for while staying true to the classic game our loyal fans have loved for the last seven years.”

Zynga also released a mobile first fantasy sports-style game titled NFL Showdown for mobile.

The game is the first addition to Zynga’s multi-game franchise, Zynga Sports 365.  It leverages licensing agreements with the National Football League and NFL Players Inc. to bring the real NFL teams and athletes, including their names and likeness, to the game.

Features include Daily Showdown tournaments; allow players to build and control an NFL Dream Team; offer in-game boosts; and a chance to win a monthly Super Bowl.

“With Zynga Sports 365, we are reimagining what a 21st century sports franchise looks like on mobile. We are developing sports games with the right level of control, community and competition that fit the mobile lifestyle of today’s consumer,” said Mike Taramykin, Vice President of Zynga Sports 365. “At Zynga, we have teams with deep experience developing high-quality sports franchises. With NFL Showdown, we are marrying our social gaming expertise with the NFL and NFL Players Inc.’s world class brands to provide football fans with compelling experiences that fit into their everyday lives and let them engage with the NFL in a way they never have before.”
