Online poker provider PartyPoker is maintaining its promotional push, launching PartyPoker LIVE Monday, a new live tour series titled PartyPoker Million, with each event on the schedule carrying a $5,000 buy-in and guaranteed multi-million dollar prize pools.
The launch follows the announcement of the PartyPoker $11 million boxing-themed Pokerfest last week and the GBP 6 million guaranteed PartyPoker MILLIONS (see previous reports.)
The initial PartyPoker LIVE event will kick off at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, Canada in May this year, carrying a Cdn$5 million guaranteed prize pool with a Cdn1 million main prize. The online-live hybrid event is being supported by smaller promos, including one in which the first 100 players to reach an online Day 1 receive a Cdn$550 cash bonus.
A company statement advises that other LIVE series events will be unveiled in the next few weeks. Satellites for this tournament, and the Online Phase 1s, can be found in the partypoker tournament lobby; the final stages of the event take place May 6-11 and players can buy in directly to Day 1 at the Playground Poker Club for Cdn $5,300.
Several other destinations for the partypoker LIVE festivals will be announced in the coming weeks.
Phil Sabbah, CMO at the Playground Poker Club, said in the PartyPoker press statement:

Kicking off the tour in Montreal, Canada, gives all the North American players a first look at the amazing events partypoker will offer in 2017. We will also be featuring live phase 1s in the club for all our players.”
The statement reveals that the new LIVE tour will also host $1,000 buy-in PartyPoker Million Nationals with guaranteed prize pools in excess of $500,000. These will be supported by the successful Grand Prix Poker Tour events as held in the UK last year.
“Listening to feedback from the players at the Caribbean Poker Party, it was clear that there was a desire for events that not only offer high guaranteed prize pools but also fun off the felt,” Tom Waters, group head of poker at PartyPoker said.
