Pokerstars has released the numbers for its just-completed inaugural PokerStars Championship Panama, claiming that the poker festival broke the record for the largest poker event held in Latin America.
Hosted at the Sortis Hotel and Spa, the event attracted over 6,000 entries across 46 events and paid out more than $9.3 million in prizes.
The next Championship stop is at the City of Dreams in Macau, where the action will take place March 30 – April 9. The National Championship will carry a HK$2 million guarantee and the Asia Open is guaranteed for HK$1 million. Players can qualify for these tournaments on Pokerstars until Sunday.
