Pokerstars prepares customers for .uk migration.

By RP, September 20, 2014

PokerStars.fr has notified UK customers of the migration of their accounts to PokerStars UK on October 1, 2014.  This measure reportedly also applies to PokerStars.com accounts.

The company explains that all gaming services available to players in the United Kingdom must be licensed in the UK due to new regulation (UK Gambling Licensing and Advertising Bill) and they will be required to download an updated region-specific desktop client and/or mobile app to continue using the service.

Log-in details, account balance and history will not be affected by the change, and players will still be able to participate in PokerStars’ complete range of games with other players worldwide.

One feature that will become unavailable is the auto rebuy feature for cash games or tournaments, due to UK regulations, the company said.

Following the download of the UK client, customers simply launch the software as usual from their PC or Mac, log-in and follow the on-screen prompts.

Players using mobile devices will need to move their accounts in the same way, then download the new UK PokerStars app for free from the App Store (for iOS users) or from the PokerStars mobile site (for Android users).

PokerStars advises customers to claim any earned VIP Stellar Rewards and Milestone Cash Credits from the VIP Store in the PokerStars.fr client prior to October 1, 2014.

Customer’s assets including play money balances, Real Money tickets, T-Money, VIP Status and FPPs may be migrated from their .FR account to their .UK account on October 1, 2014 by contacting support@pokerstars.fr with their PokerStars UK User ID.
