Triple eight in German television poker agreement.

German poker players – especially the professionals – are widely respected for their skills and have enjoyed success across the globe in high profile competitions, so it is perhaps no surprise that online poker operator 888Poker is becoming increasingly involved in the German market.

The operator’s latest move is a sponsorship of a long-running local television high stakes poker show, currently screening in its 11th run on Channel Sport 1, with sixteen episodes lined up as far as late November this year.

The current series features a slew of German players who have been making names for themselves around the world and rank among the best players there are.

The German sponsorship is one of many in which 888Poker enjoys pole position, including the US and European versions of the World Series of Poker, the Super High Roller Bowl, the Swedish Poker Championships and the inaugural Poker Masters.

The German television show has given 888Poker an appealing platform to launch related promotions for its online players, and the company has been quick to do so.

888poker.de is offering a daily freerolls coinciding with the TV episodes, in which players will have the opportunity to win a seat into next season’s German High Roller. The ultimate winner will receive Euro 10,000 to play in the game and can subsequently keep any winnings.
