Notorious Brit poker motor mouth William Kassouf has finally managed a solid live tournament High Roller win, but due to a chop he took home less than his second placed rival.
Kassouth reportedly secured a seat in the Euro 10,300 European Poker Tour Prague High Roller competition through a Euro 1,600 satellite, according to his Twitter account, one of 407 hopefuls in pursuit of a big pay-day.
Once the final table action was reached Kassouth had an up-and-down sort of day, starting low but enjoying several big double-ups that not only kept him in the game, but among the bigger stacks.
Down to the last three players, it was Kassouf, Danish pro Ullerup Hansen and Canada’s Patrick Serda still in the game, and a halt was called for a chop negotiation. That failed when the Dane was unable to agree, which back-fired on him soon afterwards when he was eliminated by Serda at third for Euro 351,000.
That left Kassouf at a 4 to 1 chip disadvantage and prompted him to restart the chop negotiation. After a half-hour discussion, a generous Serda agreed to take Euro 719,000 and second place, leaving the trophy and Euro 532,500 to Kassouf.
Sans chop, the scheduled pay-outs would have been first place Euro 765,900, with Euro 485,600 for the runner-up.
