The Los Angeles-based online gambling group World Poker Fund Holdings, Inc., which describes itself as “a developer and operator of online and event-based social gaming platforms and brands,” has announced its acquisition of a Spanish online gambling licence.

InfoPowa readers may recall that the company (whose share price is currently below 60 cents) has boasted of celebrity associations that include former World Series of Poker main event champion Jamie Gold.

“WPFH continues to expand its gaming offerings by securing a license to run an online gaming casino in Castilblanco, Spain as a sub-licensee,” the announcement advises, adding that talks continue as WPFH seeks to secure an additional sub-license for a land based casino license in the same city.

To maximize the new online gaming license, WPFH has partnered with VXL Payment Solutions, a global merchant services and payment processing firm that will also work with WPFH in further developing its WPFH Cryptocurrency platform.

VXL is a global payment processing and merchant services company with headquarters in Spain and Sweden, where it is one of Sweden’s largest payment processors, according to the WPHF press release.

Earlier this week, WPFH announced that it has launched a new division which will allow for the integration and use of digital currency with its existing and future technologies and applications.

“In addition to acquiring a digital currency wallet, WPFH is developing and exploring cryptocurrency mining opportunities specifically geared toward its social gaming projects and its users.  WPFH is planning to integrate blockchain mining into its social games, casino games, and applications,” the company advised.
