WSOP.com Nevada’s Windows platform is currently undergoing a major software upgrade (Monday) that will see enhanced geo-location capabilities and the introduction of infrastructure required for mobile platforms.

Some of the new capabilities won’t be available immediately due to regulatory restrictions, however, the enhancements will allow the company to roll-out new features once approvals have been attained by the Nevada Gambling Control Board for future offers such as iOS and Android clients.

“We’re simply putting the technology pieces in place and once we obtain regulatory approvals and are confident that the logistics are solid, we’ll be ready to roll them out very quickly,” confirmed Bill Rini, Head of Online Poker at WSOP.com.

Other features available immediately following the upgrade will include additional withdrawal options, Rebuy/Add-on enhancements, SnG log out reminders, last hand quick view and additional tournament information in the lobby view.

Rini said the company is hoping to roll out WiFi-based geolocation by early September and a major upgrade to its MAC/OSX client later this year.
