Despite his 3.3 million in career earnings and long list of victories at the poker table, New York poker pro Bryn Kenney had yet to add a World Series of Poker bracelet to his awards cabinet, but he did it in style Friday night, crushing an impressive final table from start to finish and winning the jewellery and the first prize of $153,220 in event 63.
The $1,500 buy-in Ten Game Mix event pulled in 445 players and generated a prize pool of $600,750, with the final table forming on the third day and Kenney chasing Jan Suchinek as chip leader. It was a position that Kenney quickly usurped as he seized the lead and embarked on a powerful six hour rampage through the final table that never saw him relinquish his advantage.
Fabio Coppola’s departure at third for $61,396 saw Kenney enter the heads up with a significant lead that enabled him to eliminate Suchanek in around half-an-hour, sending his last adversary home with a runner up prize of $94,618.
