Danish higher court appeal could be good news for poker
05/16/2008 - A senior Danish court (Landsretten) legal decision that Danish [land] poker clubs be prohibited from running poker tournaments as a contravention of the Danish Criminal Code is to be reviewed by the country's Supreme Court following an appeal by Frederik Hostrup and the Danish Poker Federation, reports Poker News.


Inaugural WPT Canada tourney won by Vancouver player
05/16/2008 - The inaugural WPT Canada Coast to Coast tournament up there at the River Rock Resort in the Great White North drew top poker names prepared to make a pricey main event buy-in investment of $3 000 for a crack at the $845 000 prize-pool, including Gavin Smith who is the current WPT Season IV Player of the Year; Canadian Poker Tour Player of the Year Brad Booth and 2007 Mandalay Bay WPT Champion Shawn Buchanan. 05/12/2008 - The Malta and Swedish online gambling provider Entraction (formerly 24hPoker) and Fifty Ventures Ou have partnered to launch MadCrocPoker.com, an online gambling venture that features poker, casino and sportsbook activity under a Malta license. MadCroc is an energy drink available in Europe.
