Poker still tops

Poker still tops

02/13/2010

The fifteenth edition of the Full Tilt Online Series of Poker (FTOPS) started Wednesday night with the first event sending a clear signal that online poker has lost none of its popularity.

Event 1 - a $216 buy-in NLHE tournament with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool pulled in a crowd of 5 646 players - 20 percent more than the same event in the previous FTOPS 14, although still short of the record breaking 5 712 players who showed up for the same event in FTOPS 13.

Living up to his 'handle', the winner of the main $151 000 prize in this year's first event was SolidGoldman24k after a heads up chop with PHHSKid99.

The remaining 26 events in FTOPS XV will be monitored to see if the positive trend persists.
