WPT Hold´em popular on Facebook

The World Poker Tour Texas Hold 'Em poker application on Facebook (see previous InfoPowa reports) is reportedly getting plenty of attention due to its free-to-play format and the possibility of winning prizes.

The application enables players to put their own poker persona into the game using customisable avatars, and new players are provided with a free chip bankroll with and the facility of being able to purchase extra chip packages and earn achievements.

Facebook players can win prizes, from official WPT tournament poker chip sets to passage on the WPT Boot Camp Battle at Sea Cruise, a 7-night VIP poker trip for 2 on the Mexican Riviera.

The WPT application is a market builder, enabling new players to better learn the game and play poker with some of the world's best players in four tournaments with a total prize pool of $200 000. The application also provides information through the Facebook page of WPT Texas Hold 'Em Poker's official hostess, Alison Waite.

WPT spokesmen say that the company plans to upgrade the application with new user-motivated features on a regular basis.
