Zeejustin wins WSOP Circuit Las Vegas
Internet poker hotshot Justin 'Zeejustin' Bonomo demonstrated how mature and experienced he has become in Las Vegas this week, winning the $237 692 main prize in the World Series of Poker Circuit tournament despite some very talented competition. The win will no doubt help his ongoing reputation rebuild after the online multi-accounting scandals of recent years.
The young pro came from behind to defeat a star-studded field and win his first major live tournament. To do that he had to suvive an entry field of 187 players that included Mike 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, Men 'The Master' Nguyen and WSOP bracelet holders Matt Graham and Robert Cheung. Also in the field going into day 2 of the three day epic were Kathy Liebert, Dwyte Pilgrim, Tony Dunst, Jeremiah DeGreef, Johnny Chan, David Pham and Gavin Smith. The final table of nine aces was a good illustration of the firepower on display, and included eleven WSOP Circuit rings and at least four WSOP bracelets.
In the end it came down to an enthralling four hours of heads up play between Bonomo and the irrepressible Mike Mizrachi, with the lead changing repeatedly in an exciting deepstacked poker game that must have been exhausting for both players following three days of tough poker.
But it was Bonomo who triumphed to take the main prize and a sponsored seat to the next WSOP Main Event from a very worthy opponent in Mike Mizrachi, who had the consolation of a second placing check for $143 512 for his time and trouble.
