Disappointing entry field for WPT slovakia

09/09/2009

The inaugural roll-out of the World Poker Tour Slovakia has seen a disappointing entry field of only 100 players prepared to cough up the Euro 4 900 buy-in.

The tourney was held at the Golden Vegas Casino in Bratislava and managed to attract a few international stars, among them Gus Hansen (who was eliminated early on), Peter Traply (busted out in fifth) and Alec Torelli (who came in fourth), but it was Hungarian player Richard Toth who finally took the honours after dominating the six-man final table and entering a tense heads up with Boris Zeleny. Toth's 3 to 1 chip lead prevailed in the end, giving him the top prize of Euro 104 000 - the only six figure reward in the prize pool.

The final six survivors in Bratislava were: Richard Toth, Boris Zeleny, Sasa Stencic, Alec Torelli, Peter Traply and Marec Tater.

Zeleny had to be content with a second placing and Euro 66 000.

The WPT Cyprus currently running provides an interesting comparison, having attracted 181 players.
