Day 1b registrations for the GBP 10 000 buy-in Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe now playing at the Empire Casino in London reached 178 players, bringing total entries in the event to 334, many of them internationally known names in the game.

The field all seek a victory that carries with it a first prize of GBP 801 603, with lesser payouts extending down to the 36th survivor.

Seen at the tables over the weekend were Scotty Nguyen, Steve Zolotow, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, 2007 WSOPE Champion Annette Obrestad, Chris Ferguson, Antonio Esfandiari, David Williams, Dennis Philips, Michael Binger, Robert Bellande, Josh Arieh, Peter Eastgate, and the current holder of the WSOPE title John Juanda.

Also in it to win it were Praz Bansi, Steven Fung, Noah Boeken and one of this year's WSOP Vegas final tablers, Antoine Saout.

When InfoPowa left the action to go to press, Steve Zolotow was holding the chip lead and several big names had hit the rail, including Bellande, Jennifer Harman, JC Tran, Alex Torelli, Joe Sebok, Vitaly Lunkin, Neil Channing and 2001 WSOP Main Event champion Carlos Mortenson.
