Final main event table set at WSOPE
Doyle 'Texas Dolly' Brunson has missed out on his eleventh WSOP bracelet in the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe, bundled out in seventeenth place after clashing with Daniel Negreanu and Brit player James Akenhead.
The exit of the popular veteran will disappoint many, but there has been a wealth of poker talent on display as the field of 334 narrowed over two days to first 36 players (see previous InfoPowa report) and now the final 9.Facing off on the final table with Jason Mercier holding a substantial chip advantage are:
Seat 1: Barry Shulman - 1,090,000
Seat 2: Jason Mercier - 3,198,000
Seat 3: Praz Bansi - 1,160,000
Seat 4: Markus Ristola - 784,000
Seat 5: Chris Bjorin - 518,000
Seat 6: James Akenhead - 1,398,000
Seat 7: Daniel Negreanu - 438,000
Seat 8: Antoine Saout - 701,000
Seat 9: Matt Hawrilenko - 674,000
Hawrilenko, who dominated much of the earlier action in the main event, has slipped down the pecking order to seventh place in a final table that includes two finalists in this years Las Vegas WSOP still to be played in November - James Akenhead and Antoine Saout. Another notable finalist in Europe is Barry Shulman, owner of Card Player Media and father of another, and more controversial Vegas WSOP finalist this year, Jeff Shulman.
Joining Doyle Brunson at the rail before the final table was decided, but still in the money bubble, was World Poker Tour Cyprus winner Thomas Bichon, Tony Cousineau, Eric Liu, Ivan Demidov, Vitaly Timoshenko and Antonio Esfandiari.
