Million dollar record
The virtual nosebleed tables at Full Tilt Poker Wednesday night were the scene for a new record in online cash game poker as Phil Ivey beat a succession of hardcore Internet pros to end the evening with a record take-home.
Playing the high-stakes fixed-limit H.O.R.S.E. genre of the game, Ivey took on the likes of Phil Galfond, Tom Dwan, Chau Giang and David Oppenheim to emerge over $1.1 million richer on the session - thought to be a new record. In contributing to Ivey's big payday, Galfond was down $444 000, Dwan down $343 000, Chau Giang down $289 000 and Oppenheim down $245 000.
