Hendon Mob ace wins WPT Marrakech
Hendon Mob stalwart Ross Boatman beat out 45 other players this week to win the WPT Marrakech High Roller event, pocketing $135 535 for his time and trouble.
The Euro 9 000 buy-in event overran into a third day as a result of slow Day 2 action, but the final table was full of excitement and lasted only two hours.Boatman faced the 18 year old Dominik Nitsche of Germany in the heads up, which lasted a mere two hands. The young gun was confident following his first placing and $381 030 victory in the LAPT Main Event in Argentina earlier this year, but the skill and experience of Boatman showed as he demolished the youngster, playing in only his second major tourney.
For Boatman it was a satisfying continuation of a good run this year which has seen him cash in final tables at both the Vegas and London WSOP Omaha events.
Thomas Bichon of France finished third, and Boatman's brother Barney took fourth place.
