The financial manager involved in the pioneering growth of social networking giant MySpace, Thomas Flahie, has been named as interim Chief Financial Officer by World Poker Tour Enterprises founder and CEO, Steve Lipscomb.

Flahie has an impressive c.v., having previously served in financial management at Internet companies such as eLabour and Balance Bar.

Announcing the appointment, Lipscomb said that WPT and its TV, ClubWPT.com and WPT China activities would all benefit from Flahie's experience and professionalism.

"Tom has a wealth of finance and accounting expertise and a particularly strong management record with an emphasis on growth businesses," Lipscomb said.

Flahie commented: "This is an exciting and dynamic time for WPT Enterprises and I look forward to working closely with the company’s executive team and the board of directors to realize the potential of the WPTE assets and brand."
