WSOP champ sues Harrah´s
2007 World Series of Poker Ladies Event champ Sally Ann Boyer is sufficiently angry and offended at Harrah's Entertainment and the World Series of Poker Academy to open litigation against the two.
The case revolves around claims by Boyer that Harrah's and Post-Oak Productions trading as the World Series of Poker Academy used her name and likeness for advertising without her permission or approval, and falsely claimed she endorses the World Series of Poker Academy.Boyer accuses the WSOP Academy of running ads that include a photograph of her after winning the Ladies Event with the quote, "The quickest way to your WSOP Bracelet!" referring to her as an Academy graduate, which she notes she is not.
Boyer's suit seeks unspecified damages, a restraining order, an injunction and recovery of profits associated with the use of her name and likeness.
