Big money in Borgata poker tourney
Perhaps somewhat overshadowed by the frenetic action and big money going across the World Series of Poker tables at Harrah's Rio last week, the Borgata Poker Summer Open Championship nevertheless was a poker tournament of note.
A final table of 10 experienced and determined players battled it out for a first prize worth $513 925 in a tournament that featured expert, fast and at times downright aggressive play.
It all came down to a heads up between Andrew "AK" Barta and Paul McCaffrey, with the cool Tag Heuer watch and the big check going to the former, who decribed the event as: "This tournament is a hidden jewel in the poker world and I can't wait to play more tournaments at Borgata."
Second placed Boston player McCaffrey had the consolation of a $283 080 payday and the knowledge that he had aquitted himself well against some really good opponents.
