06/28/2007

Day 4 of event 39 at the World Series of Poker - the $50 000 buy-in World Championship H.O.R.S.E. competition - is reaching a climax, with the final table now set for the last great confrontation among the 8 players who have survived despite being challenged by some of the toughest and most skilled poker players on the planet.

Amnon Filippi holds an impressive lead with a chip count of 4 015 000 followed by Freddy Deeb (3 500 000); Kenny Tran (2 445 000); John Hanson (1 995 000); former final tabler David Singer (1 330 000); Bruno Fitoussi (895 000); Barry Greenstein (750 000) and Thor Hansen (40 000).

A spectacular Seven-Card Stud hand ended Day 4 when Freddy Deeb made quad sixes to eliminate Gabe Kaplan in ninth place, and left Thor Hansen in dire straits going into the final table.

First casualty of the day, which started with 21 players (see previous InfoPowa reports) was Canadian born but Vegas resident Daniel Negreanu, closely followed by other big names like Mike Matusow and former WSOP Main Event champ Greg Raymer.

It's not just the multi million dollar winner's prize that makes this event so special - winning the H.O.R.S.E. bracelet generates major and well earned respect due to the roster of top players who always sign up, and the multi game format. carries the most respect among the professional players.
