Back in the States with a bang after its recent acquisition from LVFH by the Norwegian public company Playshare Holdings AS (see previous reports) the Action Poker Network launches its “$30 000 U.S. Poker Experience” this week with online qualifiers at Action Poker.com, Tiger Gaming.com and Poker in Canada.com.
Describing the event as “…a tournament series prototypical of the American Dream, with a chance to take 11 cents and turn it into $3.2 million at the World Poker Tour World Championship in Las Vegas,” the network promises three things to the winner: “American Poker, American Luxury and American Muscle.”
Fulfilling that promise is the offer of a $25 000 seat in the WPT World Championship scheduled for April 21-27 next year, together with accommodation at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and an ultra-cool Dodge Viper sports car to cruise the Strip during the visit.
The WPT World Championship prize pool will likely reach $13 million for the 2007 event, with $3.2 million going to the winner, and the Action event will position its sponsored player in the starter field for the big pot, which will probably number some 500 players.
The “$30 000 U.S. Poker Experience””Experience” satellites will run through to the final on April Fool’s Day, with buy-ins as low as 11 cents.
