Full Tilt Poker in fourth consecutive week of decline.

By RP, December 18, 2012

Only a matter of weeks since its re-launch as a subsidiary of Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker continued to battle last week – its fourth consecutive week of double-digit decline – with player count dropping by 13 percent, reports the independent online poker monitor Pokerscout.

The site offers no concrete explanation for the continued decline despite energetic marketing and the professional guidance of new parent Pokerstars. The monitor notes that Full Tilt is now down 56 percent down from its highs.

Overall, online poker traffic fell 1.3 percent last week, marking the fourth losing week out of the last five. Among the top 10 sites and networks, decliners outnumbered advancers 6-4.

PartyPoker took a 4 percent dip, but is looking forward to the assimilation of Bwin action from Ongame, now that that network has been disposed of and the Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment consolidation is nearing its peak, boosting PartyPoker’s player pool.

Bwin’s poker site has been down for maintenance since yesterday, with a notice claiming that players will soon see all-new software and a player pool double the previous size.

The Microgaming Poker Network moved into the top 10, achieving 9th position as it overtook Ongame.

According to PokerScout, online poker player counts have decreased by 8 percent in the last year.

The top three sites remain Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker and Playtech’s iPoker Network, with noticeable gains being achieved by Revolution Gaming (formerly Cake) which is up 56 percent.

On the negative side, the Merge Poker Network has seen traffic decline 55 percent since last year, whilst GTechG2’s International Poker Network has slipped 48 percent.

At the smaller end of the scale, Winning Poker Network (formerly Yatahay) continues to produce startling growth – 219 percent over the past year.
