Finn on fire on the Pokerstars nosebleed tables.

By RP, April 17, 2012

The formidable Finnish internet high stakes poker ace Ilari Sahamies has not had a happy year at the tables so far, but on Monday he staged an impressive comeback that saw him leave the Pokerstars nosebleed tables with $324,000 after almost 1,600 hands of $50/$100 to $100/$200 Pot Limit Omaha.

His victims included top online players like Phil Galfond and Viktor Blom, along with the three Bens – Grundy, Tollarene and Sulsky.

Biggest pot of the session was a $99,000 monster which Sahamies won off Galfond, but the fighting Finn still has a way to go to reach a full recovery; he is still down $362,000 on Pokerstars, which is nevertheless a big improvement on the $1 million of red ink he had accrued earlier in 2012.

No other player came even close to Sahamies in terms of take-home on Monday.
