An ongoing and much publicised Twitter feud between US professional poker players Cate Hall and Mike Dentale culminated in a live poker battle this week watched by around 20,000 poker fans using the Twitch livestream feed.
The feud started when Mike Dentale was critical of Cate Hall’s poker tactics in a major live tournament and she responded, starting the much-viewed #MikeandCatePlusHate thread that culminated in Hall challenging Dentale to a best-of-two games confrontation, which the Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia hosted.
Dentale was roundly bested before a large physical and online audience, with Doug Polk and Shaun Deeb providing online commentary, but charity was the main beneficiary in monetary terms with the Committee to Protect Journalism and the Community Volunteers in Medicine receiving donations.
